This evening's trips

Little Man has chewed up all the soft spouts on his cups, resulting in a huge mess any time he drinks, so I decided to run to Target to get some new cups and, of course, a few other things. But, to tell you the truth, I think I am giving up on couponing at Target. It seems like every time I go, it gets more and more difficult, and the Target coupons are frustrating because they don't explicitly state which product their coupon is intended for; you just have to cross your fingers that the coupon won't beep when you get to the checkout line. I used to have no problems getting the cashier to push the coupon through, but not anymore. I can't remember the last time a cashier overrided a coupon for me. I guess the "but the coupon doesn't say it excludes..." defense doesn't work anymore. This one trip ended up being two trips (one purchase and two returns) because of couponing issues. Nonetheless, here it is:

2-pk sippy cups: $6.99 (could have gotten this cheaper, but I wanted this particular kind)
Vitaminwater 10: $1 - $1 (4-5 SS) = FREE
Similac RTF: $5.49 - $2 (5-10 SS) - $5 Similac check = -$1.51 overage
8 Kashi GoLean waffles (why 7 are pictured, I don't know!): $1.79 * 8 - $1.79 (free item coupon from Vocalpoint home mailer) - 7 * $1.50 (coupons also from Vocalpoint and from here) = $2.03 total for 8 boxes of waffles

Total (including $0.51 tax) = $8.02, which I paid on a gift card from filling a new prescription, so ZERO oop.

Then, I hit Walgreens. This is much less impressive. In fact, not impressive at all. The only reason I went in was because I had $5 RR that was expiring. Unfortunately, I have only briefly glanced at the sale ad this week, so I was scrambling.

Transaction 1:

Colgate MaxFresh toothbrush: $2.99 - $1 (printed from Colgate, but it looks like it is no longer available) = $1.99
Dried cranberries: $3
Cup (hubby needed a cup with a lid for work, and this was a good filler): $0.30

Paid with a $5 RR, for a total oop of $0.29. I received $2 back in RR from the toothbrush. Not the best way to roll my RRs, but I'll survive.

Transaction 2:

Colgate MaxFresh toothbrush: $2.99 - $1 = $1.99
Cayenne pepper: $0.25

Paid with $2 RR for a total oop of $0.24. I again received $2 back in RR.

Last stop, Randalls.

Kraft BBQ sauce: 12 * $0.85 - 12 * $1 (coupons from here and Kraft Foods) = -$1.80 overage (the cashier didn't adjust the coupons to the price)
Ozarka water 6-packs: 2/$3 - $1 off 2 (from here) = 2/$2
McCormick Grill Mates: $0.99 - $0.50 doubled, adjusted to price (4-19 RP or 5-3 RP) = FREE
93/7 ground beef (not shown), 1.19 pounds: $2.37

I used 2 $1 OYNSO coupons from buying meat & Grill Mates seasoning (one was the coupon that printed while she was ringing everything up). My total oop was $0.24.

I received a $3 OYNSO for buying the BBQ sauce. I had a total couponing brain fart, though, and I should have bought 6 & 6, not 12 at once. I knew this, but for some reason I think I got it confused with the Ozarka and was thinking that a $3 OYNSO catalina would print for every 6 you buy. The deal is: buy 4, get $2 OYNSO, buy 5, get $2.50 OYNSO, or buy 6 OR MORE and get $3 OYNSO. I could take it back, but I still did get the sauce for free (actually overage, since she pushed all my coupons through), so I won't bother. I was also hoping the water would print out a $2 OYNSO, but this particular package doesn't apply (I didn't think it would, but thought I would test it out). I may or may not take these back.
